Blush Mystery Beauty Box February 2015

Blush Mystery Beauty Box is a monthly subscription service that is $24.95/month for a subscription or $34.95 for a one time trial. Shipping is free. They guarantee multiple full size and travel size beauty products totaling at least $100. I will say website reviews say there are more sample sizes than in the past. Cancel anytime. Values are not given on the card they include, so I guessed at a few. Products can be bought online at their store. There is also a $20 off $100 coupon in the bag. They don't ship internationally. Also, they are changing the name to Beautyfix by Dermstore (per email I got today). They  curate the box and do not make them tailored to the person.

Item #1: Juliette Has A Gun: Not a Perfume Sample
Its a pefrume sample....I never really care to receive these. Value: $4?

item #2: samples of DHC skin products
Two small samples of these products, they aren't actually mentioned on the card included with the subscription value: $2?

item #3: Alterna Bambo Kendi Smooth Hair Treatment Deluxe Sample Value: $10
This is a product I already use daily and love and was so happy to find in this box!

item #4: 100% pure creamy nail polish in kiss Value: $12
Im not a nail polish person unless its gel, so this isn't my thing...I really can't say much on this

item # 5: Murad Acne Clearing Solution Sample packs Value: $3?
Also not listed on the card, so a bonus I guess

item #6: Wrap Up bun creator Value: $10?
I love these. I had one similar already but I use them for work all the time because its an easy way to throw your hair up nicely in a hurry. I saw complaints on the website about it being black and blondes  not being able to use it but I have red hair and if you use it right, you don't see the black...

item # 7: This picture may be upside down. This is another unmentioned item on the card but is a lavender lotion sample. Value: $3?

Item #8: Vichy Liftactiv Serum 10 value: $2
Can buy at drugstore and a one time use sample...meh

item #9: NeoStrata Skin Active Antioxidant Defense Serum Value: $5?
I really don't know the value. Its a decent size sample though

Item #10 Vichy Idelia Life Serum Deluxe Sample Value: $5
Its still a drugstore brand, not to say its not a good brand. I just think if they promise $100 worth...

Item #11: Tocca Beauty Perfume Value: $5
Another perfume sample

Item #12: Cargo Full Size Liquid Eyeliner in black Value: $20
This seems like a great product and worked really well. I didnt need it so I gave it to Liz, who really likes it. I had not heard of this brand but I got a lip gloss from the same brand in another subscription box

Item #13: Tocca Full Size Body Cream Value: $20
I really liked this item. This is a sephora brand, which since Sephora is pretty much my heaven, makes me feel good about the brand. I also like the texture and the smell, because its light. The website said members did not all get the same scent though. They would get one of three. The packaging of this is a little funny. Like diaper ointment, but thats not the fault of blush.

I really liked this box. I think it had a lot of great stuff in it. I cancelled several beauty boxes in order to add other boxes, and I decided to keep this one for one more month at least since the items where actually really nice. I give it 4/5

Gentleman's Box January 2015

Gentleman's Box is a monthly subscription service that is $25/month. Free Shipping in the US. Each month they feature a famous man or type of man as the theme of the box and send some deluxe samples, mostly full size items and a copy of GQ. You can candel anytime. Boxes ship around the 25th of the month and cancellations should be made before billing on the 10th. They shipped the first one very very fast. I cannot find a way to buy the items featured on their website but it was mostly full size items so I most may be something you would buy where they are sold. K was really impressed with this box!!! I was too! It was definitely better than Birchbox which is only $5 less a month! Usually it includes 5-6 items related to lifestyle, accessories, and grooming

Item #1: Copy of GQ Magazine wrapped in a rubber Gentleman's Box Bracelet
Value: $6

Item #2 Full Size Wooden Badger Shaving Cream Brush Value: $15
Really neat item that will definitely get use!
Item #3: Full Size Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 Value:$7.50
K has used this before and was excited to get a new one in this box since he really likes this product
Item #4 Three Whiskey Stones from Boozestones.com value: $10
K Loves these already and has some so getting some more was really nice. This was really awesome to see in the box

Item #5 Full size Harrison Blake Apparel Berry Moss Red Flower Lapel Pin value: $10
Not really K's style and I can see where not all guys would be really into this item, but I do actually have a guy friend who will use it and plan to give it to them

Item #6: full Size pair of Richer Poorer Walk On Red and Black Striped Socks Value: $12
These are really nice sock and while I K will probably only wear them on off days, they are a great item!!!
Item #7: La Fresh Travel Lite  Shoe Shine Wipes (2 samples) value = $4
K really liked these two, especially for keeping in his backpack for when he is at the hospital
Overall, I was really impressed with the Gentleman's box and may resubscribe K to it after we try a couple more for review purposes 5/5. The price was $25.00 The value of the box: $64.50...not bad...

Allure Beautybar.com Sample Society February 2015

Allure Beautybar.com Sample Society Box offers 5 deluxe size beauty samples and a mini allure magazine monthly for $15 a month and ships free. They do not currently ship to Hawaii, Alaska, APO, US Territories, and internationally. Items can be purchased through their online store. Each box includes a $10 beauty bar.com gift card off a $50 purchase. You have a membership log in and dashboard that allows you to see when your box will be shipped. You can cancel at any time, but it is recommended that you cancel before the 24th of the month to avoid be charged for the next months box. You will fill out a 6 question beauty profile to let them know your skin type and needs.

Allure Mini Mag

Item 1: Chloe Love Story Perfume Sample Size Value: $1.76
Perfumes are very subjective and depend on the person. I like this perfume, but like I said, not every perfume is for everybody and I will most likely make that my basic perfume review in all cases.

Item 2: Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush Value: $1.75
I always love dry shampoos. They are great to have around, especially for when you are traveling, so I really liked this item. As far as buying it in the future, I prefer Alterna Bamboo Dry Shampoo.

Item 3: StriVectin Intensive Illuminating Serum 0.25oz Sample Value: $22.25
This serum is meant to even out skin tone and boost radiance as well as target excess melanin that causes discoloration. I have always heard good things about this company and I really like the value of the size of the sample. I'm pretty Caudalie committed, but I will see how I like after a few more goes.

Item 4: NUGG Deep Cleansing, Hydrating, and Revitalizing Face Masks Single Use Gel Masks Value: $8.97
I have recently gotten into using face masks at least one or twice a week so I was excited to find this. I haven't used them yet, but I am glad they're gel and not a mud mask, as I find the gel masks less irritating and less difficult to remove.

Item 5: Nails Inc Nail Polish in Princes Palace (bluish color) Full Size Value: $9
I use gel nail polish so this is an item I am unlikely to really get much use out of, however, I tested it on my toes and the color is a nice light purplish-blue and would be appropriate for just about any setting. It also went on easily and dried quickly. I would say this is a great product if you use regular nail polish.

For my first Allure Sample Society Box I was pretty impressed. The overall value came to $43.73 for the $15 price (I had a $5 coupon so it was even less). I will at least give this box one more month to see what it has to offer and its consistency. 4/5

Conscious Box January 2015

Conscious Box is a monthly subscription box service that brings you a variety of food, bath, body, beauty, and household products that are all natural, non-GMO, and have an aim to support sustainable, fair-trade businesses. There are several options for Conscious Box. There are three types of boxes; Classic, Gluten-free, and Vegan. There are also two size boxes: Taster and Plus. The Taster version is $7.95/month and the plus version is $17.95 a month. The shipping is free. I got the classic plus size box. I had a hard time finding out if they ship anywhere outside the US from their website, but based on other blogs, I believe they ship to Canada. They bill on the 1st and ship between the 18th-21st and send an email with a tracking number. You can cancel anytime, just make sure you do before the 1st of the month, so that you aren't billed again.

They have a points system for reviewing products. For every point you get, you get one cent towards purchases towards their store, where you can buy the products in their boxes. You can also receive 500 points for referring a friend through Facebook or Twitter (which is $5). Points cannot be used towards subscriptions.

The website has a place to log in, where you can update your account and manage it. You can also seek customer service. I will be canceling this service. I actually really liked the box but I got it almost for free and in order to review other boxes, some have to go. I will replace this one with something similar and eco-friendly and non-beauty though.

Item 1: Saffron Road Chipotle flavored Crunchy Chickpeas Full Size Value: $5.19
These are not bad tasting and have 5g of protein per serving and only 3g of fat. I would consider buying these to snack on as a healthy alternative. The flavor was nice too. Love how big this bag was!

Item 2: Spice Hunter Organic Oregano 2 tsp Value: $2
Not sure what to say, other than its a spice that I use. Hard to tell if its any better than any other oregano. Will add to the spice cabinet.

Item 3: Nuaxon BioScience NuMemory+ Herbal Supplement for Memory Full Size Value: $33.25
I really like that they sent a full size trial of this. Its suppose to support memory, have antioxidant activity, improve recall, and help maintain healthy brain function. One of the black soft gels didn't change anything for me, but I imagine this is something that would need to be taken daily.

Item 4: Sant Superfruit Beverage Mixer 10g sample Value: $1.20
This is a dried fruit that can be mixed into any beverage for a shot of antioxidants. I doubt any beverage would be appropriate and don't imagine it would take great in a soda. Iced tea would probably be the way to go. Of course, it might make a nice Vodka mixer.

Item 5: Natralla Dry Skin Lotion Small Sample 0.1oz x 2 Value: $0.17
100% natural ingredients that are suppose to leave hands moisturized up to 24 hours after application (I'm assuming if you don't wash your hands...). There is also a $1 off coupon inside each sample

Item 6: Carolla's Beeswax Skin Creme Sample Size (says should last 3-4 uses because you don't need much) 5ml Value: $0.59
Only has 5 ingredients (olive oil, borax, water, and beeswax). I tried it. I will say, it was VERY thick and you really don't need a lot. It felt good on my hands and since there is not a lot of extra ingredients, there was no strong smell.

Item 7: Back To Nature 100% Juice Fruit Punch Full Size Single Serving Value: $0.91
The juice is like a capri sun. There is a straw attached to the back to put through the pouch. The front does say from concentrate with added ingredients. The added ingredients make me wonder. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure I will.

Item 8: Amazing Grass Green Superfood Chocolate Chip Coconut Whole Food Energy Bar Full Size Single Serving Value: $ 2.99
I'm looking forward to trying this because I love coconut and chocolate together. I like getting bars like this because I can toss them in my purse and take them to work, which is what I'm saving this one for! This product is cold-processed, soy free, vegan, and USDA organic!

Item 9: Your Tea "Tiny Tea" 3 Servings Value: $5.89
Tiny Tea is meant to help with detoxifying and revitalizing your digestive system. K tried it last night and enjoyed it, but was just as happy with his standard Earl Grey

Item 10: Kleenmaid Naturez Way Bamboo Perforated Towels, 2 full size towel samples Value: $0.37
These are a nifty alternative to paper towels and are 100% biodegradable as well as they can be reused (after rinsing) up to 10 times! I really like the idea of these, because we go through a lot of paper towels in my apartment!

Conscious Coupons-$1 off a Saffron Road product, 20% off code for Spice Hunter products online, 25% off for NuMemory+ products online, more information about Carolla's Beeswax products, and 2 recipes: One for Oregano and Garlic Butter and one for Chicken Cacciatore from Spice Hunter

I have to say I was REALLY impressed with my Conscious Box. If it were not for the fact that I want to try several natural, organic, or eco-friendly boxes, I would probably keep it. The total value added up to $52.56 not including the at least $3 worth of coupons. Considering it was $17.95 (plus I had a code for a free box), I think this box was pretty awesome. I also really liked some of the products it introduced (especially the bamboo towels and the Coconut and Chocolate Energy Bar). I give this one a 4/5 rating!
